Players and Management of Accra Hearts of Oak football club will ensure that they pick all the maximum points in the remaining three matches in the Ghana Premier League, Yaw Preko, Assistant coach of the club has said.
The Phobians are without a win in seven games and are six points behind league leaders Wa All Stars. They are currently sitting fourth on the league table with 42 points.
This poor performance has infuriated supporters and fans of the club who have already started calling for the head of the coach, Sergio Traguil.
Management of the club on Monday, 29 August held a crisis meeting in Accra to discuss the way forward.
Speaking in an interview with Class 91.3 FM’s Desmond Kofi Decker, after the meeting, Preko said: “The way forward is to put things in order with [regards to] what we have to do to make sure that we climb up than to descend. We [will] keep on working hard on the [weaknesses] that we have identified, we have to make sure that we work on [them] and make sure that [in] these three matches, we get the maximum points and see.”
He added: “It is not over for any of the clubs, so anything at all can happen. We still have to fight, to train, we still have to hope. We don’t have to give up. If you are a fighter you don’t have to give up when you are down. When your back is against the rope you still don’t have to give up, so we will keep on training, we will keep on working very hard and then we see how it goes.”
