President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo says his government is committed to revamoing colts football.
Presenting the 2018 State of the Nation Address on Thursday, February 8, 2018, in parliament, the president revealed that his administration is making serious efforts to develop football in the country as he believes the demise of juvenile football has robbed the country of exceptional talents in recent times.
“In partnership with the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry and the Ghana Football Association, we are constructing a number of football pitches in the Zongos and across the rest of the country, to aid in the revival of colts football, which has been responsible for the production of talents like Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah,” he stated.
Akufo-Addo also highlighted the need to harness football talents at a young age if the country is to continue its tradition as being one of the continent’s greatest football nations.
