Clearance has been given by the Ministry of Health for nurses to be recruited into the various health facilities across the country.
It is recalled that on February 16, 2017 the government suspended recruitment of nurses pending clearance, a situation which affected over 8000 such nurses and other health professionals across the country.
However, a letter issued and signed by the Deputy Human Resource Manager of the Ghana Health Service, Peter Obiri-Yeboah, on 20 March directed the regional directors of the service to resume the process.
Portions of the letter read: “The honourable Minister of Health has granted approval for the recruitment of trainees and other health professionals who were granted financial clearance in December 2016 in line with the regional ceilings.”
