Ghana’s boxing team, the Black Bombers won four medals at the just ended Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur (AIBA) Africa Boxing Championship in Morocco, which doubled as a qualifier for the AIBA World Championship and 2016 Olympic Games.
The Bombers captain Sulemanu Tetteh clinched silver after losing in the final to Moroccan Imad Ahayoun in the Light Flyweight division while Musah Ramah Lawson, David Bawa Akankolim and Annang Ampiah Akimos all won bronze.
Bombers captain told Sportscrusader.com that the competition has placed the team on a high pedestal ahead of the All Africa Games.
“We were happy that we got the opportunity to compete at the games and our performance has really pushed the team to a level that we hope to get more medals at the All African Games.” Sulemanu Tetteh.
