Ghana’s best female DJ, Harey Adjoa Owusu Kusi popularly known as DJ Ohemaa Woyeje, will be representing Africa at the 2023 Annual Juneteenth NY Celebration.
The theme for this year’s Juneteenth NY celebration is “Kaleidoscope of Black Culture”.
The premier three-day event in New York City will highlight the rich heritage and contributions of African Americans from June 16 to June 18.
Airbnb, Atlantic Terminal Mall, Black Restaurant Coalition, Brooklyn Nets, Brooklyn Navy Yard, The Drivers Cooperative, The Home Depot Foundation, Liberty Coca Cola Beverages, New York Liberty, New York State of Health, PacSun, and Visa are among the Juneteenth NY Celebration’s participating partners.
Official media broadcast partner is WABC-TV, the most viewed local station in the country and the number one station in New York.
Ohemaa Woyeje said of her expectation for the event, “I expect African Americans to demonstrate more love and unity toward one another.”

Emmy-nominated musician Julian King will headline the Juneteenth New York Celebration 2023 Concert.
The 14th Annual Juneteenth NY Celebration, one of New York City’s most prestigious and significant annual events honoring the federally recognized holiday, will take place in Brooklyn, NY from Friday, June 16 to Sunday, June 18 and promises to be an exciting and action-packed three-day event.
The Juneteenth NY Celebration was created to support small businesses owned by African-Americans, enhance the economic and cultural arts in disadvantaged communities, and empower the Black community.
And the sponsors of this year’s event continue the positive work being done in and around Black communities in the region and across the country.
Attendees will experience the finest of Black culture and community through live performances, exhibitions, authentic local cuisine, wellness, and other family-friendly activities over the course of three days.
Over the past 14 years, Juneteenth New York has grown exponentially from a local celebration to a nationally recognized event, with attendance expected to exceed 37,000+ this year.
