Ghana have experienced a massive slump in the Fifa World Ranking, having fallen eight places in September’s edition.
Released on Thursday, the latest table shows Ghana on the 43rd position between Tunisia (42) and Scotland (44), with an accompanying drop in total accumulated points from 749 to 658.
On the continental level, the Black Stars have similarly taken a decline from 2nd to 5th, with Cote d’Ivoire (34 overall), Algeria (35), Senegal (39), and Tunisia (42) making up the top four.
DR Congo (51), Egypt (53), Congo (54), Mali (55), and Morocco (58) complete the top ten in that order.
Beginning the New Year at 37th , the Black Stars’ last assignments were a 1-1 stalemate with Rwanda in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers and a 1-0 defeat to Russia in an international friendly.
Argentina and Belgium still occupy the first and second spots, with Germany moving a place up to third. Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Portugal, France, Uruguay, and Wales complete the top 10.
The Black Stars return to action in October in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers when they take on Uganda, currently ranked 65.
The next edition of the ranking will be released on October 20.
