Former Black Stars international, Anthony Baffoe, has urged the senior national team, Black Stars, to be mentally tough ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
According to him, the Stars need to prepared and psychologically geared up for the game. The Black Stars are under intense pressure to get a result in Alexandria following their poor start to the qualifiers as they could only pick a point against Uganda in Tamale with the Egyptians starting the qualifiers on a sound footing with a result against Congo in Brazzaville.
“That match is not about playing ‘Tiki-Taka’ football. It’s about a warrior mentality, psychologically, and preparing for the game. I love those matches when the stadium is going to be filled with 50,000, 60,000 spectators. The officials who are around the team need a warrior mentality and will have to be strong and prepared together with the coach and players of the team,” he told Class Sports.
The Black Stars will on 13 November face the Pharaohs of Egypt in what could be the biggest clash for the Stars ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Head Coach Avram Grant is expected to name his squad on 4 November with captain Asamaoh Gyan already ruled out due to injury.
