Ghana has slipped two places to occupy the 45th position in the latest world ranking released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), for the month of October.
The Black Stars’ drop was explained by the 0-0 draw with the Cranes of Uganda at the Tamale stadium in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as well as an international friendly with South Africa, which ended 1-1 in Durban.
Ghana, initially rated 43rd, dropped two places with 628 points accumulated to lie behind defending champions Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Algeria and Tunisia who are placed 31st, 37th, 35th and 38th respectively on the globe.
Argentina still maintained their spot on top with 1621 points while Germany and Brazil have moved to the second and third positions respectively.
Ghana is ranked fifth on the continent.
However, Ghana’s group opponents at the AFCON, Egypt, have been ranked 46th in the world, just behind Ghana, while Mali is 58th.
