Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research, World Health Secretariat, epidemiologist, Prof Fred Binka, and others have been honoured for outstanding roles in the field of epidemiology in Africa at the first Ghana Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme (GFELTP) Scientific Conference.
The awards by GFELTP is in recognition of their in-depth knowledge in applied epidemiology, ground breaking research work, global visibility, being pillars of University of Ghana School of Public Health and immense contributions to achieving GFELTP agenda.
Other awards went to GFELTP Director, Dr Ernest Kenu, GFELTP Field Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sackey, among others.
In an interview with Class News’ Jerry Akornor, Dr Ernest Kenu acknowledged Ghana needs to step up efforts when it comes to health emergency response systems.
