The Ghana Football Association, GFA, will hold an extra-ordinary Congress on January, 4, 2017 to usher in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season.
The GFA will also use the Congress to announce the football calendar for 2017.
At the last Congress held at the Ghananaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the GFA tabled a proposal for GHALCA’s 5% earned from Premier League gate proceeds and player transfers abroad to be slashed to 2.5% percent.
This decision has not gone down well with GHALCA and Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo promised to ensure that decision won’t see the light of day under his leadership.
Delegates will however vote during the Extraodrdinary Congress on whether to uphold or throw out the proposal.
Also at the Congress, audited accounts of the various clubs will be presented to the FA.
The Ghana FA is considering January 21 or post Afcon 2017 for the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
