Popular Ghanaian actress Emelia Brobbey has appealed to all Ghanaians to forgive her if she has offended them in anyway as she pursues her career as an actress.
According to her, she comes into contact with all kinds of persons who in turn expect her to live in a particular way. But failure to meet their expectations normally offends those people she meets.
The award-winning actress, while speaking on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra100.5FM on Tuesday May 23 with host Nana Romeo said she was not arrogant as perceived by a section of Ghanaians.
She explained that roles assigned her by movie directors and producers in films do not reflect her real-life character.
She said: “I want to appeal for forgiveness if I have offended anybody knowingly or unknowingly. In our profession, we come into contact with several people who will expect you to act in a particular way, but when you don’t do that you tend to offend them, and so let me use this platform to ask for forgiveness from all of them.
“Some people will like you, others will not. Inasmuch as you try to please people, you will get one or two who will dislike you, but I leave everything to God.”
She added: “The role you see me perform in movies do not actually reflect who I am in real life. I only act based on the script that has been given to me by my directors and producers.”
Touching on her former husband from whom she has been divorced since 2013, she said: “I haven’t heard of him since we divorced. I honestly do not know his whereabouts. I was in Chicago in 2015 and got in touch with a few family members of his. Since then, I haven’t really heard about them.”
