A team of investigators probing the controversial Ford gift saga will present its final report to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) by the end of August, ClassFMonline.com has gathered.
CHRAJ set up the investigate team to do the probe after some private citizens as well as the youth wing of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) filed a petition to that end.
They want the commission to unravel the circumstances under which a Burkinabe contractor, Mr Dibril Kanazoe, was awarded a series of contracts by the Government of Ghana after gifting the SUV to the Ghanaian leader.
Checks have revealed that high-level officials of the government, who were connected to the gift in one way or the other, have been interviewed by the investigative team.
Mr Mahama was accused of conflict of interest and bribery by some critics after the story broke. He has, however, insisted that he never used the car for his personal benefit, but had it added to the pool of vehicles at the Flagstaff House.
