Dynamic sports pundit Agyenim Boateng popularly known as General 1 of Voice FM has won National Sports Pundit of the year at the 2022 Foklex Media Awards.
The event which took place this weekend at the National Theatre, Accra saw media practitioners been awarded for their excellence work of the year.
General 1 who has been the talk in the country yesterday won the National Sports Pundit of the year for his outstanding contribution to the development of sports in Ghana.
National Sports Pundit is the maiden edition that was added in this year’s Foklex Media Awards and General 1 said it is a privilege for him in winning this prestigious award.
The awards scheme, which is designed to reward hardworking Radio and Television personalities in the country, as well as bring together all stakeholders in the industry to promote healthy Radio and Television programs, was graced by 2nd Vice-President of Ghana Athletics (GAA), Mr. Charles Osei Asibey.
General 1 was in a tight competition with top Sports pundits across the country and was able to sail through due to his hard work and dedication in sports contribution at Voice FM.
General 1 in an interview with Voicefmonline.com said “the competition was a tough one, it is a National competition and i knew it wasn’t going to be an easy competition but in all i give thanks to the listeners of Voice FM, the presenter and all those who voted.”
“Another thanks to the CEO of Voice FM for giving us the opportunity on his radio to showcase our talent and also put the management of Ghana Football Association at the right place”
General 1 is someone who has contributed so much on radio when it comes to Football discussion and really deserves the award.
