The Tema Regional Police Command has apprehended a 45-year-old man at Bedeku, a farming community in Ada, in connection with the murder of his 60-year old unemployed girlfriend, Sarah Korkor Wormenu.
Confirming the incident to ClassFMOnline.com, the PRO for the Command, ASP Juliana Obeng, said: “The beheaded body of the deceased was found about 100 meters from her house.”
Preliminary investigations by police revealed that family members of the deceased at about 6.00am on Monday, January 9, 2017, had noticed that she had not returned from town since the previous night out with her boyfriend, Adoah Kisseh.
They headed straight for the residence of the suspect, about 300 meters away from the victim’s house, to find out why she had not returned home since the previous night, only to be told by a suspect that the two met and had a nice time on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at about 10pm, after which they headed to their individual homes.
However, about an hour later, the townsfolk found the headless body of the deceased close to where she lived. Police got information and quickly rushed to the scene of the crime and found the headless body and the knife supposed to have been used to commit that dastardly act.
When a search was conducted in the room of Adoah Kisseh, nothing incriminating was found. However, he has been detained by police to assist in further investigations while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.
Investigation into the crime continues according to the police.
