Mr George Smith-Graham has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).
He wrote to the presidency to announce his resignation in a letter dated February 8, 2017.
His resignation takes effect from May 9, 2017. Per his contract, Mr Smith Graham is supposed to give a three months’ notice prior to resigning.
“By this letter, I wish to serve the required length of notice of three months,” Mr Smith-Graham, who was appointed in 2011 by late President John Mills to oversee the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure, said in his letter.
“It was a great honour to serve my country as the Chief Executive of FWSC over the last eight years,” he said, adding: “During my tenure, I enjoyed the support of a dedicated team made up of directors and staff of FWSC, as well as Organised Labour and the Ministries of Employment, Finance among others. I am very grateful to the Presidency and every person/institution that gave and continue to give me the needed support for the successful implementation of the SSPP.”
