Scores of workers of telecom company Expresso are demonstrating at their head office at Abelemkpe to demand payment of their 18 months’ salary arrears.
The aggrieved workers say they have worked for 18 months without salary, a situation they complained had disrupted their lives and families.
They are also demanding that the management and owners of the struggling telecom firm pay their benefits including social security, Provident Fund contributions, and medical welfare.
They say their demonstration is a noiseless, non-violent, and non-destructive one.
Expresso’s market share has consistently shrunk in the telecom industry. The National Communications Authority (NCA) had earlier threatened to withdraw its licence due to its prolonged dormancy.
