Nana Kojo Konduah VI, Omanhene of Edina Traditional Area, has heaped praises on the president of Elmina Sharks, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, for how far the team has come after match day 27 in the ongoing Division One League.
With three matches to end the season, Elmina Sharks are on top of the league with 62 points, nine points higher than second-place team Karela FC. Elmina Sharks will, therefore, need a point in the remaining three matches to make a historic promotion to play in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier Laegue season.
Speaking to Accra Sports, Nana Konduah XI, who is also the life patron of the club was confident the team will qualify to the GPL.
“As for qualification, we have qualified. I am happy of the qualifications because Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom made it possible for the people of Edina and the whole of the Central Region. We the chiefs and people of Edina want to express our gratitude to Dr Nduom,” he stated.
The Chief added that: “If you take a look at rich people from this town and the region, they invest their monies abroad but Dr Nduom has 54 companies helping to develop Ghana and the region. Whenever we speak well about him, people think we are being political but his deeds are worth mentioning”.
Elmina Sharks will play their next game on Sunday September 4 at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina against Bibiani Gold Stars.
