Ahead of the presidential and parliamentary elections, Ghanaian voters must choose leaders who understand the problems the country is saddled with as well as leaders who have a good track record of taking initiatives at solving those problems, Dr David Sunu, parliamentary aspirant for the Agotime Ziope constituency of the National Democratic Party (NDP), has said.
According to the medical doctor, a victory for the NDP was imminent because the frustrations that the people of his constituency and Ghanaians in general have been subjected to by the current administration are unbearable.
Last week, he presented his nomination form to enable him contest in the parliamentary election. The flag bearer of his party, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, also submitted her forms to enable her contest in the election for the presidency.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 4, Dr Sunu indicated that he and the NDP presented hope for the disappointed youth in the Agotime Ziope constituency, and appealed to all the people in the area to vote massively for him and the NDP.
“The people of Agotime Ziope must vote a leader who understands their problems and [has] a track record of taking initiative. I have in the past mentored many young people in the constituency, organised free classes for students, free medical screening across the constituency, formed science and maths clubs as well as supported various youth groups and programmes in the constituency. I have done it before, so I can do it again.”
“With my background as a medical doctor and my training in law, I am better-placed to advocate for the Agotime Ziope constituency in parliament and create opportunity for all.”
