Ed Sheeran revived his Twitter account Tuesday after it abruptly disappeared.
The 26-year-old English singer alarmed his fans Monday when his Twitter feed went missing.
Sheeran’s account couldn’t be found just hours after he garnered mixed reactions from fans for his cameo Sunday on the season seven premiere of HBO’s Game Of Thrones.
The hitmaker earlier this month shut his Twitter feed down because of trolls.
His account was back Tuesday but all of his tweets prior to April 23, 2015 were deleted and his followers had dropped from 19 million to 15.2 million.
The singer’s latest tweet Monday said he used a third-party service to delete old postings on Twitter.
He also tweeted about an upcoming guest role on The Simpsons.
The conflicted hitmaker clearly has a love-hate relationship with the platform and his decision to temporarily shut down his account drew anguished reaction from fans.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! ED SHEERAN ERASED HIS ACCOUNT ON TWITTER WHYYYY???????” tweeted one distraught user.
“WAIT… did Ed Sheeran delete his twitter? Did you guys do this to him?!” wrote another, referencing those who had been negative about his GOT role.
As for Ed himself, he was a million miles away with his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
He posted a photo of the couple to his Instagram showing them posed against a vista of peaks under a bright blue sky.
He added the caption: “Climbing mountains in Peru.”
On July 3, Britain’s The Sun newspaper published an interview with Ed in which he said he’d “come off Twitter completely”.
“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it,” he explained.
The next day, though, the 26-year-old backtracked and posted to Instagram, saying: “I haven’t quit anything, I’m just not reading anything, except Harry Potter.”
