The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced that it will hold elections for regional representatives to the Council of State on Thursday February 9, 2017.
In a release dated Monday January 16 and signed by Head of Communications Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, the EC said it would be accepting nominations from prospective candidates for the election at its regional offices from Friday January 20 to Thursday January 26, 2017 from 8:00am to midday and from 2pm to 4pm daily.
The venues for the regional elections are, however, yet to be determined by the commission.
To be eligible to contest the poll, applicants must be Ghanaian, of sound mind, be eligible to contest, and be native to or resident in the regions they seek to represent.
