Eligible voters who for some reasons cannot cast their ballot in the December polls will get the opportunity to transfer their franchise in a 40-day exercise opened by the Electoral Commission, which starts today, Wednesday, 17 August and ends on September 26.
Through the vote transfer exercise, which is backed by C.I.75, voters who cannot personally cast their ballot will invest their franchise in proxies.
According to the Electoral Commission, only eligible voters can act as proxies for others. The EC said forms for transferring votes are available at its headquarters in Accra and also at the various district offices across the country.
Meanwhile, the election management body on Monday, 15 August, also opened the process for presidential and parliamentary nominees who wish to transfer their votes from one polling station to another to do so.
