The Electoral Commission has filed an appeal against a High Court ruling that ordered the election management body to allow the Progressive People’s Party’s flag bearer Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom to correct certain mistakes he made on his nomination form for which reason he was disqualified from the race.
The EC has resorted to the Supreme Court to relook into the case.
Meanwhile, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has said although the EC has the right to appeal against the ruling, he wondered what purpose such an action would serve.
Meanwhile, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has said his face will definitely be on the ballot paper for the 7 December 2016 presidential poll.
“Yes you’ll see my face there”, he told Prince Minkah on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Monday, 31 October.
Dr Nduom is currently on a Thank You tour after the court overturned his disqualification from the race by the Electoral Commission over certain anomalies he committed on his nomination form.
He said as he embarks on his campaign tour, he will let the supporters of the party know that the PPP is back in the race.
Asked if he supported calls by former Attorney General, Martin Amidu, that EC Chair, Charlotte Osei, must resign for wrongfully disqualifying him and the 12 other presidential aspirants, Dr Nduom said he did not want to interpret Mr Amidu’s words except to urge Ghanaians to listen to Mr Amidu, who, he said, has got a lot of things right in the past.
