Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known in showbiz as Mzbel has said that she sees herself in the late Ebony Reigns after watching her performances on stage after her death.
“Honestly after her death, everyone is talking about her so I sat down and analyzed what I did in the previous years and what she did in her short time and she was exactly like me. Looking back at the shows I played, the costumes I wore and how I controlled the crowd was similar. I see myself in her. I feel like I have been reincarnate,” she said.
In an interview with Bismark Boachie (DJ Premier) on Entertainment Capital, on Accra100.5 FM, on Saturday, 19 February 2018, the ‘Saucy Gal’ singer said, she used to disagree with people who said Ebony was following her footsteps, but she has realised that to be true after her death.
“At first I used to disagree when people say she is just like me. I always said that she does dancehall and I don’t and Ebony herself said that’s how she is and she was living her life on the stage but mine is different. But after watching some of her shows I see that it was exactly how I started. But unfortunately for me I was expecting that by now Ghanaians should have understood that this is how showbiz is, you have to look just like what you do but Ghanaians still don’t get it and I think is because of religion. Christianity is strong here so whatever you do people look at you in that angle.” She stated.
Mzbel added that Ghanaians should not forget that every profession comes with its own costume.
