The Committed Drivers Association of Ghana has said it will be presenting a list of concerns its members have raised regarding challenges with their work to President Akufo-Addo.
Their concerns include increases in insurance premiums for commercial vehicles, the operations of Uber taxis in the country which they consider a threat to their business, among other issues.
The drivers have indicated that Uber taxis are gradually crippling them, hence immediate action should be taken to protect local drivers against the service.
Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Wednesday May 17, the spokesperson of the association, Francis Appiah, noted that soon after the 2016 polls, the President invited the drivers to a meeting and assured that he was going to address their concerns.
Therefore, they deem it fit to put together their concerns on paper and present to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said: “We have some concerns and so we have catalogued all those concerns to be presented to the President. He is out of the country at the moment and so when he returns we will submit the concerns to him.
“I remember that after the elections the president invited me and assured us that he was going to address our concerns.”
