The Founder of the Ghana Freedom Party, Akua Donkor, has asked the general public not to politicise the demise of former vice-president Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
According to her, the death may have been caused by “high pressure” or any other sickness.
Mr Amissah-Arthur died on Friday, 29 June 2018.
Reports indicated that he collapsed at Airforce Gym on Friday morning during a workout session, and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Amissah-Arthur was the sixth Vice-President of Ghana, in office from 6 August 2012 until 7 January 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama. Previously, he was Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012.
Madam Akua Donkor told Chief Jerry Forson on the Ghana Yensom show on Accra 100.5FM Friday that: “His death is natural. It could have been high blood pressure that killed him or even malaria.”
She added: “Let us all take our health needs seriously. Let us visit the hospital frequently and keep checking our health status.”
