Neymar has told Philippe Coutinho not to join Barcelona, according to a report in Brazil.
The new PSG signing had a bitter divorce from the Catalan club and is now being sued for breach of contract for pushing threw his transfer.
Liverpool have turned down three bids from Barcelona for Coutinho, the most recent worth up to £118m with bonuses.
And the Camp Nou technical director Robert Fernandez last night promised another big signing before the end of the window as Ousmane Dembele was unveiled.
But Brazilian newspaer Estadão has claimed: “Neymar told Coutinho in a conversation between the two that he would not regret Liverpool’s decision to keep him away from Barcelona.”
Both players are back in Brazil for the World Cup qualifier against Ecuador in Porto Alegre early Friday morning UK time.
Coutinho is on international duty despite not playing for Liverpool this campaign after suffering a back injury.
Simoni said: “Coutinho back problem? He is okay now. The back problem was a matter of stress, it was something emotional.
“The uncertainty about his future led him to feeling stressed. Everything is solved now.
“Coutinho and I are friends since years, I always treat his medical cases. All he needed was someone to give him a pep talk.”
Brazil doctor Rodrigo Lasmar added: “From a medical point of view, Philippe is in the perfect condition to play.”
Neymar left the Nou Camp this month for a world-record £200.6million, joining PSG in a move that more than doubled the previous highest fee.
There has been a bitter war of words since, with the Catalan club pursuing damages from Neymar for what they allege to be a “breach of contract”.
Neymar in turn has promised to battle his old club for part of his 2016 contract renewal premium which he claims has not be paid.
