A Kumasi Circuit Court has adjourned to 17th May a case involving eight persons who aided the escape from lawful custody of some 13 Delta Force members who were standing trial.
The Circuit Court Two, court presided over by Patricia Amponsah, granted a motion by the prosecutor to allow the Attorney General’s Department time to study the docket.
According to ACP Okyere Darko, the AG’s Department has requested a duplicate of the docket and will need time to study it for the necessary advice.
The eight persons were granted bail last week by a Kumasi High Court after being charged with disturbances in court, resisting arrest, and rescuing persons in lawful custody.
Lawyers for the accused persons said they would wait patiently and monitor developments.
They argued that their clients were innocent.
They also expressed disappointment with the court’s inability to bring finality to the matter at today’s hearing.
