Ace Nigerian actor Segun Arinze has advised his fans in Ghana to make a wise decision when they go to cast their vote on 7 December in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He advised the electorate to avoid voting for candidates who offer them money but rather consider a candidate who has the interest of the country at heart.
The award-winning actor advised Ghanaians to learn from Nigeria which had a peaceful election and transition of government without any bloodshed.
“They (Ghanaians) should think it through very well and ask themselves what kind of leadership is it that they want. [It should be] a leadership that is long lasting, a leadership that will endure and will serve the purpose for which they were elected,” he told DJ Premier on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday 3 December.
“In going forward, they should take an example from the American election. …They should just think through before they decide what they want. …I want Ghanaians to, on 7 December, go out peacefully, no fighting, no killing, they should take the example of Nigeria who transferred successfully from one government to the other with no rancour, nothing. So I will advise Ghanaians to go out in the same manner, vote with your conscience, do not vote for money, vote for what you think is right and at the end of the day vote for the good of Ghanaians, and Ghana will move forward, that is the most important thing,” he added.
