Family and friends of late highlife artiste, Daasebre Gyamenah, on Friday August 12, gathered at the forecourt of the New Juaben Omanhene’s palace at Koforidua to commemorate the one-week anniversary of the musician’s passing.
The award-winning artiste died on Friday July 29 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra of an ailment he battled for a long period.
Daasebre was nicknamed Ahuofe by his fans after his hit song, Ahuofe, which literally means ‘the beautiful one’.
He was born a Muslim but the family refused to allow him to be buried according to Islamic custom.
According to ClassFMonline.com sources in Koforidua, the family has set 14 October for his funeral.
Among those present at his one-week commemoration were former Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, musicians, and friends from the entertainment industry.
