One individual had her head severed from her body and died instantly in a car accident in the Central Region on Sunday, 15 January.
The accident, which occurred around 7pm on the Winneba-Kasoa highway, involved a Toyota Hiace with registration GR 5164-16 and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GE 5061-11.
According to reports, the Awutu Akrampa-bound Toyota Hiace was carrying footballers who were returning after a match. The car attempted to overtake some two other cars upfront but failed resulting in a head on collision with the Sprinter.
Five others who got injured were rushed to a hospital in Winneba. They were treated and discharged, except for two victims who remain on admission.
