The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that they will arrest the students of Nkwanta Senior High School in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Volta region, who rioted and vandalised school property over the seizure of their mobile phones by their teachers.
The school has been closed down indefinitely following the vandalism of the students.
The students were given a 4 pm ultimatum on Tuesday, 30 October 2018, to exit the school premises.
The authorities have subsequently called for a PTA meeting on Wednesday, 31 October
Speaking on this matter on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM hosted by Kwabena Prah Jnr. (The Don) on Wednesday, 31 October, DCOP Francis Ebenezer Doku, Volta Regional Police Commander, said: “The rioters destroyed the electric wiring on the campus and, so, it was difficult to identify those who engaged in the riots.
“But we are investigating the matter and the perpetrators will surely be brought to book.”
