Lance Corporal Kofi Peprah stationed at Chereponi is wanted by the Northern Regional Police Command for disrupting the election process at the Tamale Central Voting Center during phase two of the early voting exercise on Sunday 4 December.
With the timely intervention of persons at the Tamale Central Voting Center, materials would have been destroyed by the security personnel whose name was not captured in the register.
The disgruntled officer insulted and pushed down some voting materials at the scene to register his displeasure over the situation.
According to the security officer, he had come from his peacekeeping station and spent money to cast his vote but was told his name was not captured.
The security officer demanded the presence of the Regional Police Commander and the Electoral Commission to answer to him why his name is missing on the register.
He threatened that if he is not given the chance to vote then he would also prevent people from voting at the center.
Meanwhile, the Northern Regional Police PRO ASP Ebenezer Tetteh and the Northern Regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah’s names were missing in the register.
