Asante Wiafe, the Eastern regional chairman of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has described the national executives of the association as incompetent.
According to him, the national executives of CLOGSAG lack understanding of labour issues and, therefore, are unable to press for demands on behalf of its members from the government.
He explained that members of the association across the country are owed arrears dating back to 2011, however the executives have woefully failed to institute the right measures to ensure that the government settles those arrears.
Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM: “We want the national executives to step down by the end of this month. They should step down for us to get a new set of executives so that we can get the result from the government. We are owed arrears since 2011 till now and nothing has been done about it.
“The executives are incompetent on labour issues and that is why we are suffering. If we get competent executives for CLOGSAG, they will be able to get us the result from the government.
“By the end of this month, we will make sure they step down. Whatever means we will use to ensure that they step down we will do it. We are the least paid in the whole country because our executives are incompetent.”
