The Civil and Local Government Service Staff Association of Ghana (CLOSAG) has called off its protracted strike following an agreement reached between the group and the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu, on Thursday August 18.
Details of the agreement are yet to be made public.
Members of CLOGSAG have been on strike since 27 July in connection with the non-payment of their interim premiums.
They had refused to return to work and had called government’s bluff not to pay them their salaries for the month of August.
Several meetings they had with the Labour Ministry failed to yield any positive results until now.
