As part of activities marking this year’s Christmas celebrations the Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Joycelyn Tetteh, has donated items to some communities within her constituency.
At Vakpo Afeye Police station, she presented a hamper, a bag of rice, cooking oil and other items to the district commander Kodzo Avornyo.
She proceeded to the Anfoaga Police district, where she inspected a newly built police post and a prison cell.
She promised to deal with the lack of vehicle and other logistical challenges facing the Station.
The district commander, Kodzo Avornyo, expersedd gratitutde towards the gesture.
He stated “We feel so much needed and respected, we also have to live up to expectation, it is going to boost our morale”.
“We need information to work, but our culture does not allow us to be open with strangers especially the police”.
She also presented an undisclosed amount of money to the children’s unit of the hospital.
Explaining why she embarked on this activity, she explained “It is something that I always do, this is not the first time, normally l go to the vulnerable in society.
I believe in the fact that we are all not the same and we are all not privileged to have these basic things in life, so I always make sure that from the beginning of the year, I make provisions towards that, December comes and I am supposed to be sharing love, not only wishing them [merry christmas] but in a little way that I can touch their lives”.
