The newly appointed Commander of the East Legon District Police Superintendent Cephas Arthur has vowed to transform law enforcement in the district.
Having been transferred from Police Headquarters from his previous role as Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, he said he would get East Legon residents to be abreast of security and modern policing issues.
“A time will come very soon, about a few months when you come to East Legon, you will see that every Tom, Dick and Harry in East Legon is interested in policing,” he said on Saturday June 10.
He emphasised: “My preoccupation is going to be garnering the support and collaboration of the general public towards the maintenance of law and order.
“I will mobilise the persons we are going to serve in our community to let them get involved in policing generally.”
His former deputy, DSP Sheila Abayie Buckman, is the new Director of Public Affairs in the latest reshuffle within the Police Service under the command of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu.
