The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) has said public sector workers who fail to biometrically register with the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) will have their March salaries suspended.
Such workers have been given up to the end of February to re-register.
A press statement issued by Seidu Koyomah, Controller and Accountant General, said: “The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) wishes to inform all public servants on the Government of Ghana merchandised payroll who have not yet registered on the new SSNIT biometric registration that they are given up to the end of February 2017 to complete the re-enrolment with SSNIT to enable the CAGD update the payroll with the new SSNIT biometric numbers.
“Failure to do so will have their salaries in March 2017 suspended.”
