Thousands of vehicles are stranded in a gridlock at Buipe in the Northern Region owing to the closure of a bridge that links Kintampo to the area.
The bridge is currently under reconstruction.
According to travellers using the road, all engines in the bumper-to-bumper gridlock are off because it is virtually impossible to move down south or up north since traffic on either side of the bridge is at a standstill.
The gridlock, according to one traveller, started around 8pm on Tuesday night and has persisted into Wednesday.
There are some soldiers around the bridge who are trying to help the situation but to no avail. The road was blocked on Tuesday 9pm.
