Angry market women who sell at the Gomoa Budumburam market in the Central Region have raised concerns about the conversion of the market centre into a hub for prostitution at night.
According to the irate market women, the situation is negatively affecting their business and have subsequently called on authorities to clamp down on the activities of the sex workers.
Speaking to Accra 100.5FM reporter Opanyin Darko on Thursday, 27 December 2018, one of the traders said the sex workers turned the market into a brothel the previous night.
The market women indicated that they will resort to curses if the sex workers continue to sleep with men on their tables after the market had closed.
One affected trader explained that she saw blood, semen and used condoms on his table and added that such conduct by the sex workers was appalling.
The irate market women have subsequently appealed to the District Chief Executive for Gomoa East, Solomon Quarm, to intervene in the matter.
They also appealed for a better, well-structure market else they will boycott payment of market tolls to the Gomoa East District Assembly.
