Hundreds of residents of Brongkon-Afrancho in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region have been stranded at the banks of river Nkadan after a heavy downpour on Sunday, September 24.
The residents are unable to cross the river to their various destinations due to the collapse of the town’s bridge that links to the town.
About four (4) footbridges which were constructed over the river as an alternative way to the community and the various schools have all been washed away.
It will be difficult for pupils to attend school tomorrow if nothing is being done about it.
Some of the residents also had their homes flooded by the rain.
Some of the residents who spoke to Accra FM’s Elisha Adarkwah appealed to government to come to their aid.
The Assembly member for the area, Hon Philip Sarkodie Addo, also appealed to the government to come to the aid of the people.
