Ghana international, Derrick Boateng, has observed that the Black Stars of Ghana failed to win the main points during the world cup qualifiers, resulting in the inability of the team to qualify to the Russia 2018 tournament.
The Back Stars were unable to qualify for their fourth world cup appearance after failing to garner the maximum points during the qualifiers.
Speaking in an interview with SK Ameyaw on the Accra Sports, Derrick Boateng said: “Or failure to qualify to the World Cup was not because of the last two matches in the qualifiers, but our failure to win the major points right from the beginning of the qualifiers.
“The points we were supposed to get at home, we didn’t get it so… Every country is determined to go to world cup and so they will want to use every means to qualify. You can see the game we played against Congo; we scored but the referee disallowed it.
“It is so disgraceful and painful because that goal was not off side. A lot of things are happening in African football and that is so painful.”
