Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has hinted that he is unperturbed he was not nominated for the 2017 BET Awards to be held on Sunday, June 25, in Los Angeles.
This follows the nomination of his compatriot and fellow dancehall musician Stonebwoy for the prestigious award. Stonebwoy was nominated alongside AKA (South Africa), Babes Wodumo (South Africa), Davido (Nigeria), Nasty C (South Africa), Tekno (Nigeria), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Mr Eazi (Nigeria) for the coveted Best International Act – Africa award which he won previously in 2015.
A day after fans took to social media to laud Stonebwoy for the nomination while others mocked Shatta Wale for being overlooked once again, the Taking Over singer, in what appeared to be a response to such fans, tweeted: “My B.E.C.E certificate sef ano know where edeh. Then we deh come worry about BET…#Money deh call me for my brain….”
