Bechem United has parted ways with head coach, Manuel Zacharias. A letter sighted by Viasat 1 Sports indicates the Portuguese tendered in his resignation letter yesterday and it was readily accepted by the club.
Manuel Zacharias ealier this month indicated to Viasat 1 Sports he could leave his post after the club ignored him in their transfer activities.
The club recruited almost 14 players, doubling the number of players he wants to lead in the Premier League and to Africa for the CAF Confederation Cup.
He however stayed on to lead the club to the 2016 G-6 tournament where they finished fourth.
It is unclear what triggered Zacharias’ decision to leave his post, but what is evident is that the two parties were never in a harmonious relationship.
The club threatened to sack him after the MTN FA Cup success. He was also tagged arrogant by his employers after he said he will beat Hearts of Oak if the club allows him to work with his team transparently.
Bechem United has a month to find a replacement before their Africa campaign gets underway in February.
