Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will return to Accra in the evening of Thursday, 1 February, the Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin has said in a statement.
Dr Bawumia has been in the UK on sick leave for the past 12 days.
The statement said Dr Bawumia will be met at the Kotoka International Airport by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
On Wednesday, Mr Arhin had told journalists that: “As has been said, definitely, he is due to return by the end of this week, so, whatever be the case, if there is any information as to his return, definitely, as we have put out in a statement by the Chief of Staff, whatever information that is agreed upon, you will get to know.
“… We made it clear that he is to return before the end of this week, and that position still holds.
“Just as he did when he was not feeling well, when he is coming back, too, definitely, we will let the Ghanaian people know about it,” Mr Arhin said.
