The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced that the Barekese Treatment Plant will be shut down from Monday, 2 October 2017 and Tuesday 3 October, 2017 for some emergency maintenance works.
A statement released by the company said as a result, most parts of the Kumasi Metropolis will be affected. They include Asawase, Sawaba, Aboabo, Asafo, Asokwa, Adum, Nhyiaeso, Ahodwo, Kwadaso, Patasi, Santasi Fankyinebra, TUC, Angloga, Ayigya, Tech, Oduom, Kentinkrono etc.
“Customers are kindly informed to store enough water before the shutdown,” the statement said.
It added: “Meanwhile, alternate arrangement has been put in place for institutions providing essential services like hospitals and GNFS until the situation is normalised.”
