One person has been shot dead with 15 others injured from gunshot wounds as irate youth of two neighbouring towns of Drobo and Japekrom in the Brong Ahafo Region clashed.
The deceased, a native of Japekrom was among several others leading the townsfolk including chiefs, as part of activities marking their Munufie Festival when the shooting took place on Wednesday afternoon.
Public Relations Officer for the Brong Ahafo regional police command, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong confirmed the incidence to Kwabena Prah Jnr (The Don) on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Thursday, 18 October 2018.
Meanwhile, the police has deployed more men to the area to restore peace.
There is a long tussle over land ownership between the two towns but it is however unclear whether the attack is linked to that rivalry.
