The four suspects involved in the gang-rape at Kumasi Bantama have been remanded again to reappear on January 3, 2018.
The Asokwa Juvenile court presided over by His worship Peter Oppong Boahen remanded the suspects after the prosecutor told the court that investigations have not been concluded and would more time to conduct further investigations, lawyer for the suspects, lawyer John Boamah, said.
The four were remanded to juvenile cells due to their age after an in-camera hearing by a panel with His worship Peter Oppong Boahen presiding over the case.
Today has been the first time the fourth suspect was arraigned.
The other three suspects who appeared before the court at its first sitting were also in court.
The relatives of the suspects were in their numbers in court to give them support.
“The case is such a way that we need not be in a rush for the matter to be prosecuted”, lawyer John Boamah told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah.
“just last week we had information [that] one of the suspects has been arrested. It means more things need to be done,” he added.
He said he is not in a rush to ask for bail for his clients since investigations is not concluded.
Lawyer Boamah, said the suspects have been remanded to juvenile cells where parents have the right to visit and feed them and whatever is necessary with them.
