Boxer Braimah Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku, who is wanted for alleged assault, on Tuesday September 6 showed up in an Accra Circuit court to prevent the court from issuing an arrest warrant against him.
This was after the Police had indicated that the boxer was playing hide-and-seek as they tried to serve him with a writ of summons to appear before the court for assaulting a hairdresser.
However, the case could not be heard because the judge, Marian Affoh, was not in court. The case has been adjourned to Monday September 12.
Meanwhile, the undefeated boxer has denied assaulting the hair dresser. He said he never laid a hand on the victim.
According to him, all the girls in the salon on the day of the alleged assault were his friends. Banku said he only jokingly made advances at Martha and asked her to kiss him in a playful manner. Martha, according to Banku, however, got upset over the joke, adding that he never assaulted her.
“All the time I visit them and give them money… any time I visit, I tell Martha I want to marry her. Although I have three wives, I want her to be number four – as a joke. I held her phone and told her I will buy her a Samsung Galaxy phone. I didn’t beat Martha. I was only joking with her. I only tapped her on her shoulder while making jokes with her,” Banku explained to Kofi Adomah on Kofi TV.
