Crystal Palace legend Andy Johnson is happy with the work rate of Jordan Ayew, who is yet to find the back of the net for the club after eight Premier League games.
The 27-year-old, who joined the Eagles from Swansea City on loan last August, is under pressure to step into the shoes of injured Christian Benteke who is expected back in January.
Palace failed to claim a win or score a goal in their first four fixtures of the season at Selhurst Park.
However, the former player believes the Ghana international will soon rediscover his goalscoring touch.
“Jordan Ayew has just joined and I think he has done fantastic,” Johnson said, as quoted by Football.London.
“He works hard, and I think when he gets his first goal, he might go on a goalscoring streak. It just takes something like that to score.
“I don’t think it is down to anything, there are plenty of teams who will be talking about a lack of goals.
“Loads of teams are in that boat, but the team is chipping in with goals, which is important,” he added.
Ayew is expected to start against Everton at Goodison Park when the Premier League resumes this weekend.
