The 26-year-old completed his comeback from injury with a second half appearance in Wednesday’s cup win
Ghana star Andre Ayew made only his second competitive appearance for West Ham United in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the League Cup on Wednesday.
Following a three-year move from Swansea City, the former Marseille man injured his hamstring in a coincidental 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League in August.
Ayew saw 12 minutes of game action in Wednesday’s fixture after replacing Manuel Lanzini in the 78th minute.
Cheikhou Kouyate and Edimilson Fernandes had earlier given West Ham a 2-0 lead.
Gary Cahill, nonetheless, got Chelsea a consolation deep in stoppage time, but his effort was not enough to save his side from exiting the competition.
Ayew could make his Premier League return when Slaven Bilic’s men play away to Everton on Sunday.
